Sexual Exploitation of Children and the Rights Guarantee System

The third World Congress against the sexual exploitation of children broadens the scope beyond the focus of previous Congresses on commercial forms of sexual exploitation of children. At World Congress III: Sexual Exploitation of Children and the Rights Guarantee System, all forms of sexual exploitation of children, particularly new challenges and their transnational nature, are the subject of discussion and action.The Congress is an intergovernmental event hosted by the Government of Brazil and co-organized by UNICEF and ECPAT, with the participation of a broad range of governmental representatives, civil society organizations, researchers and institutions, the private sector, and children and young people. Building on previous World Congresses in Sweden and Japan, it will examine what works in different regions, emerging challenges, and promising preventive and responsive practices. The aim is to promote and support international, regional and cross-border cooperation between countries and institutions to combat the sexual exploitation of children.
